The Creston Community Band is a concert band in Creston, British Columbia, Canada. It is run by volunteers and performs at concerts throughout the Creston Valley and neighbouring communities.
The present community band was formed in 1989 by a small group of dedicated musicians who saw a real need to provide appropriate music at various town functions. As a community band our membership is drawn from all parts of the community and we cater to all musical tastes. Our repertoire includes up-beat swing, jazz, dixie, film and television tunes, broadway hits, classical and traditional concert pieces, waltzes, polkas and Latin dance tunes. In short something for everyone.
We are always looking for new members. Some of our present members had not played an instrument for 30 plus years and were amazed at how quickly it all came back. So if you are a recent player, or have not played since school, how ever long ago that was, from piccolo to tuba, come and talk to us and we will help you get back into the “swing” of things.
We rehearse on Monday evenings at the St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church hall, 306 Northwest Blvd. in Creston, BC from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.
